Hospital Manager

Tracey Mumby, RVT, CVPM, SHRM-CP

Tracey has spent over 30 years in the veterinary field and is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and is certified in Human Resources by Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).  She knew when she was fairly young that she wanted to "help" animals and began a journey through ROP Veterinary Assisting and starting her first veterinary job when she was 16.  After high school she attended San Diego Mesa College RVT program where she returned as an instructor in 1995.  Tracey has gained a wide variety of experience over the years which includes clinical work in general practice, emergency, avian & exotic, multiple specialties, zoological medicine, and research. Tracey joins us at South Bay Veterinary Hospital after working 10 years as a hospital manager at the San Diego Zoo.  In addition to commitment to clinical medicine and practice management, Tracey has kept herself active in other aspects of the veterinary community and has been honored to be part of the California (when it was a thing) and National Exam test writing and review teams, requested panel speaker, and an appointed member of the South African Veterinary Council.
